who is the ideal candidate for this program?

Any university undergraduate should be able to use the frameworks provided to them to figure out how to plan the remainder of their university courses. The course seeks to generate self-awareness as well as self-sufficiency - helping individuals have a better understanding of who they are, what habits they should cultivate and how to close the skill gaps to break into roles or industries they may want to venture into.

It would be better for a non-business school undergraduate as the frameworks were developed with that particular audience in mind, as well as to leverage on the strengths of that particular segment of undergraduates.
 

WHO came up with this?

All frameworks and material are conceptualized and owned by Joel Lam who has worked on this since 2016, leveraging on his informal mentorships to others as well as his own personal experience breaking into Private Banking as a Philosophy undergraduate. All materials distributed by the course is subject to copyright and Joel retains all intellectual property rights over the materials.
 

how is this different from any other career advisory programs or what the career center can offer?

Structured career navigation is difficult to find in the market, especially when it comes to non-business school undergraduates.

This program seeks to answer the why and how of career navigation rather than the what. We help the individual storyboard his career journey as well as the steps required to get to his goal whereas most career advisory sessions come into deliver tangibles (how to write your CV, how to interview). We believe at Launch that it is important to understand why you want to work in a particular industry or role and whether it is compatible with who you are in the long run. Your career would last a lifetime, and focusing just on getting into a job without knowing whether it is the job seems very short-sighted.

We understand that it is difficult to know what you want to do in the long run, which is why part of this course also seeks to measure compatibility between the role/industry and the individual.

There are couple of ways we can structure this.

2) You can try the free quiz out which comes with full write ups on how these quizzes should be interpreted and understood. These results will then be used as a reference when explaining the frameworks involved. If you forget to save your results, just drop us an email and we’ll be more than happy to send a copy to you. We will only send copies to you if your email is the exact match to the one in the test results for data privacy purposes.
